ATRIP

Hello and introduce yourself, tell us who you are and what your goals are with music.

I am ATRIP and I have been producing electronic music in my home for more than 20 years mixing digital and analog sounds of electronic instruments with sounds of nature, everyday phones, experimental instruments, DIY instruments and ethnic and traditional music instruments.

What inspired you to produce music?

When the first home computers with a sound card came out and they taught me that any audio sound captured on that pc could be turned around, it was like a different path was illuminated in which I had more control to make my music than until now was with an electric guitar in a grunge band.

Where are you living right now?

I live in Carmen de Patagones, which is in the northern part of Patagonia Argentina.

What is your favorite style of music and why?

I don't have a favorite style of music, but artists with original sound and artistic personality are my favorites.

How did you start DJing and producing?

I started producing in an Electro HIP HOP trio in 1998 called Abatidos por la Motta (https://www.facebook.com/abatidosporlamotta/) at that time we were pioneers of the genre and we played in the most underground places of the city.

Who is your biggest influence in music?

The one who influenced my career the most of all my favorite artists is most likely Kurt Cobain.

What separates you from other DJs and producers?

I think that with many producers we are on the same wave and almost all of us row for the same.

If you could choose any place in the world you would like to tour, where would it be and why?

Without a doubt somewhere close to nature in a very intimate atmosphere, with good vegetarian meals and delicious craft beers and with all La Clica gathered.

How did you get to the sound you produce?

It was a long way to experiment with everything that emits noise or sound, when I started the internet was not accessible in most homes so learning things that nobody taught in my city was not easy.

Which DJ, Artist, Producer do you admire the most?

I don't have an artist that I admire more than others, but I could name Piazzola, Faith no more, Beck (not Jeff), and Beastie Boys among my favorites.

What do you think of Music Container Blog?

I love the support he provides for emerging artists, I follow him on all my networks.

Tell us about other things that interest you, such as photography, art, tattoos.

I am dedicating all my free time to music only.

What is the one thing that you would like to connect with your music?

Now I would like to reconnect with my audience of my live shows since here they are quite restricted by COVID.

Frankie&Rikiabi

Segundo artista Frankie & Rikiabi...

vamos con la entrevista!

Frankie&Rikiabi

Hello, and please introduce yourself , tell us who you are and what are your goals with music?

Hello and thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves, We are Frankie&Rikiabi, electronic music duo, but firstly 2 friends making music since they were kids passing through several experiences and genres, trying to cope with the audiences we used to have in Italy.

What Inspired you to produce music?

The fact that through internet you can reach exactly the kind of audience that fits your style, definitely gave us the boost to start and make the music we like the way that we like.

Where are you living right now?

Frankie is living in Rome, RikiAbi lives in Istanbul. Our friend and co-producer AuralX/Demiurgo is still in our small town of origin in the center of Italy.

What is your favorite style of music and why?

If you look at the whole of the production of this project up to now, you can find different genres and styles, even Tango and African music – but all is made through the use of synths.

Or main purpose (dictated mostly from the kind on instrumentation we use and 'in the box' processing) is to give a 'live' or humanized feeling to synth/sequenced music. We want our electronic music to sound as if it was played by a real person by using clever programming rather than samples. Even when we do EDM you will find some dynamic peak or note clash or harmonic distortion that small imperfection which is aimed to give that extra human thrill/shiver.

How did you start DJing and Producing?

With the diffusion of DAW softwares or first multitrack recorders for pc back in the 90's we started with what is now commonly called 'producing'. Before then, we were using external sequencers or the in-built sequencer of our keyboard/synth. We were buying the pieces and constructing our own custom cables in order to record our music on cassette...then it was possible to burn Cds.... though we did not know it was 'producing' but it was our natural way for composing and recording...

Who is your greatest influence in music?

We were lucky enough to be kids in the 80's and see the 90's where computers and electronic started to mix with guitar rock/metal or pop – 90's were an interesting music lab as well as the 70's. The 80's have their distinctive sound and genres that stayed there and did not evolve, though they were so good that we are still trying to replicate them now in the 2020s . We definitely come from those times and the biggest artists of those times are the motivation in our music.

What separates you from other DJs and producers?

The Music with the capital M does not separate, it unites people. We have more things in common with many other artists or genres rather than trying to separate or emerge. Being

loyal to one genre is the choice of many, being eclectic is the choice of many others...we are all trying to make it in this world. Generally speaking the real distinction is made with the story you can succeed to tell with your music and each one of us have different stories.

If you could choose anywhere in world you’d like to spin, where would it be and why?

Back in the 80's again I remember the U2 having a live performance on a rooftop of a building.

Thinking back to that, our last work, the EP Victor and Berlin has a video (basically a cartoon) showing our characters/avatars performing from the roof of Brandenburger Tor in Berlin. We did not think it before honestly, but it became natural as a way to introduce this particular work.

Though it could be so cool to perform from an historical building. Maybe we do more of that.

Before us Jean Michel Jarre gave a virtual concert in Notre Dame de Paris or Tangerine Dream many years before really played live the Coventry Cathedral...

We may try and repeat this experience in one of the many historical building, churches, especially in our region in Italy.

How did you get into the sound you produce?

Trying and Trying and Trying....the result of our trying is out there for listening and it is still evolving, changing not yet coming to a fixed mark....or maybe never will...who knows?

When we put a new track out there, we want to create a reaction and give a message. That's why we do some particular and antithetic choices in our styles each time. We think that this is the best way to create a sincere and constant communication with our audience/supporters even if it is 'hey Riki what the f**k did you do this time?!

What DJ, Artist, Producer you most admire?

The artists of our lives, besides the big ones in the 80's (special mention to The Queen that we have been covering for several years) and the soundtrack of the movies of those times, we name Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Enigma, Vangelis, Kraftwerk all those who could add a good melody to an electronic built base/rhythm – it is very basically what we are also trying to do.

How do you feel about Music Container Blog?

I think it is a great initiative. The first difficulty that an indie artist has now is to be 'talked about' and make his/her name circulate. A blog like yours gives us the opportunity for that and to explain our point of view, the way we operate and why. So someone would get to know that.

Tell us about other things you’re into, photography, art, tattoos?

We are into more music :D and then like anyone, cinema, tv serials, having a walk....

As we are in the video and youtube generation, video making has become a necessary side activity. Frankie conceives his music ideas from images and RikiAbi actually works and produces the videos for the tracks, not only just to help the views on youtube, but they become one with the track as +1 instrument.

What is the One Thing you’d like to connect with your music?

Our Lives. We would like to live from our music only, so we are more free to make more and better music and videos. We thought are still thankful to our day jobs that keep us connected with the world, people and also be an inspiration for different reasons.

Please feel free to add what you like?

We thank you for your interest in our music/contents and to give us this space to talk about ourselves.

I hope the readers of the blog want to subscribe and help us to become big on Youtube. This is our channel:

Doctor DJ

Queridos amigos del blog, dia miercoles dia de presentar nuevos artistas!

Vamos con la primera entrevista.

Doctor DJ en el aire.

Hello, and please introduce yourself , tell us who you are and what are your goals with music?

Hi, my real name has not been revealed yet and I intend to keep it that way. Actually not a single soul knows who is behind the masks of Doctor DJ, not even my family. I'm not sure whether I will expose myself in the future or not. Anyway, I call myself Doctor DJ and my short term goal is to have fun and become better at music production. During my journey I will decide about the future and maybe set a long term goal.

What Inspired you to produce music?

I have been working with hip hop music during 2005-2008 on indie level and had mostly a great time doing it. Since I got my first kid I realized that I didn’t have the time anymore so I stopped. Covid-19 turned a lot of extra time to kill and that is when I decided I wanted to start with music again, only this time I went for electronic music since I can skip vocals and I can work independently.

Where are you living right now?

Malmö, Sweden.

What is your favorite style of music and why?

I like everything that sounds good to me, but growing up, Hip hop was always most played. The beats, the lyrics, the messages that I could relate to made it extra good for me.

How did you start DJing and Producing?

During the Napster era and mp3:s when people downloaded tons of music. I was around 18 and listened to music whenever I was awake. Me and my friends were cruising a lot with our cars with the bass bouncing in the trunk. During these times I quickly became the guy who always had the latest or best CD’s and people were begging to borrow or get a copy from me. My taste in music became everyone's in our circle of friends. That is the time I was first referred to as, the DJ. Short after that I got to know some local hip hop producers and my interest grew bigger and I got involved.

Who is your greatest influence in music?

Got probably hundreds… I will start with the first one and finish with the last. Michael Jackson was my definitive first influence, I was around 3-4 years old back when I discovered him. I loved Thriller but was terrified of the video. My latest influence right before I started with my current production was Swedish House Mafia. I rediscovered them when I was making a new playlist and saw a documentary about them short after which got me hooked.

What separates you from other DJs and producers?

I only do what I like to do and I try to think outside box. When people tell me don’t do that, it is embarrassing no one else does it, that is the moment I think well maybe I should do it just because no one else does it.

If you could choose anywhere in world you’d like to spin, where would it be and why?

Haven’t thought about it at all, maybe some mega nightclub in whatever capital city.

How did you get into the sound you produce?

Electronic music has always been interesting for me. Most often there is no lyrics and I connect on a different level with the tracks. Sound effects have always been interesting too and it feels like they go along well. I’m more of an up-tempo, epic and exciting producer. Movie inspired. At the moment I don’t like too much “foreplay” I take shortcuts to the action on purpose. I will try different stuff on my way but it won’t be my first choice to make a 7-8 min track.

What DJ, Artist, Producer you most admire?

In electronic music there is no absolute nr 1 producer for me. If i'm going to make a playlist I have to go through around 200 songs to end up with 15-20 song playlist. I’m talking about established and experienced artists, so you could say i'm picky.

How do you feel about Music Container Blog?

The Music Container blog are essential since it helps out to connect artists with more people, artists and potential fans. I'm really thankful for this interview and I hope it will give me something back.
This is my first interview as a producer.

Tell us about other things you’re into, photography, art, tattoos?

I paint art with acrylics from time to time. Being creative always gave me something back. Now the music takes almost all my time.

What is the One Thing you’d like to connect with your music?

Me myself have many memories in life attached to certain tracks. Both good and bad ones. For example I remember the exact tracks I have listened to during different car accidents. Then some tracks during certain achievements in life. I hope that my music can be attached to someone's positive memories.

Yamm Twenty One

- Segundo artista del dia, segunda entrevista.

Que la disfrutes!

Yamm Twenty One

Hello, and please introduce yourself , tell us who you are and what are your goals with music?

Hello, my name is Michel and I produce under the name of YAMM Twenty One. I'm French and come from the south of Paris. I started to make music in the late 80's on "Tracker" type software on Amiga. It was mostly a fun hobby. I have always been attracted by new technologies, which explains why I have been working in computer engineering for almost 20 years. Today I have completely changed my orientation and am the manager of a Laser Game, unfortunately temporarily closed, for the reasons you know.

My objective with music is mainly to please and to please myself, I do not have vocation to become an international star, however if this one can allow me to finance the material to make it evolve, I do not say no.

What Inspired you to produce music?

I had taken a big break from music for about 10 years. I hadn't really stopped completely and had fun from time to time on my synth, but never really creating. Then the first lockdown of 2020 came. I needed to get away from it all, so I reinstalled my old version of Ableton (which I quickly upgraded) and started making some loops. I finalized some tracks and played them to some friends. Many of them told me that I should put them online. Which I finally did a few months later.

Where are you living right now?

I live in Châteauroux in France.

What is your favorite style of music and why?

It's a rather complicated question because I like a lot of musical styles and depending on the mood some styles are more suitable than others. Now in terms of composing I am Electro oriented without being attached to a particular style.

How did you start DJing and Producing?

No DJing for my part, although that could be fun (or not).

And I already answered the question for the production 😊

Who is your greatest influence in music?

I was rocked by Jean Michel Jarre, so I won't hide that his music inspires me a lot but the bands that really made me want to do it are Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and Daft Punk.

What separates you from other DJs and producers?

A few kilometers? :p

If you could choose anywhere in world you’d like to spin, where would it be and why?

No preference, wherever the wind takes me 😊

How did you get into the sound you produce?

I love to test, to triturate, to mix synths and samples, that gives sounds sometimes strange and pleasant at the same time.

What DJ, Artist, Producer you most admire?

Admire is a big word, if I had to consider only one (artist), then it would be Freddie Mercury.

How do you feel about Music Container Blog?

A very nice blog that gives visibility to "indie" artists is cool and not common. Keep it up!

Tell us about other things you’re into, photography, art, tattoos?

I like to draw even if I'm not necessarily very good at times. Whether it's with a pencil or in 3D. I also drew (or rather modeled) myself the animations that accompany my music on Youtube.  I also like movies a lot, there are few movies that I haven't seen and my favorite movie is and will remain for a long time "Matrix".

What is the One Thing you’d like to connect with your music?

I would love to place titles on movies, series or even video games.

Our goal is to have a good time all of the time, and make the world a a better place through our music.

What Inspired you to produce music?

We grew up surrounded by music, and it has always been an important part of our lives.

Where are you living right now?

We live up in the hills of Yorkshire, surrounded by sheep, trees, and howling winds.

What is your favorite style of music and why?

We make Synth Pop because we love Synth Pop  - it’s danceable, singalongable and makes you feel good.

How did you start DJing and Producing?

We met at a music festival, and started to DJ and produce music together soon after.

Who is your greatest influence in music?

We love Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, Human League, Kraftwerk and, of course, Soft Cell.

What separates you from other DJs and producers?

We take music seriously, but we don’t take ourselves seriously. We do this for fun.

If you could choose anywhere in world you’d like to spin, where would it be and why?

We will play pretty much anywhere that will have us, to be honest, but we would like to be the first band to play on Mars. (Elon Musk @elonmusk take note)

How did you get into the sound you produce?

We grew up listening to Synth Pop, and we like to make the kind of music we like to hear. Otherwise what’s the point?

What DJ, Artist, Producer you most admire?

Apart from the bands we have already mentioned, we love Gary Numan for producing awesome music, and never giving up.

How do you feel about Music Container Blog?

The Music Container Blog gives new artists like us a chance to shine and tell the world what we are all about - what could be better than that?

Tell us about other things you’re into, photography, art, tattoos?

As well as making music, we build synths and robots, we do all our own photography and make our own videos, and  have a passion for art in all its many forms - Google #nSECmUSIC to see some of our latest work.

What is the One Thing you’d like to connect with your music?

Happiness.

Please feel free to add what you like?

Our new single, Mr Moogie, is out on the 2nd of April, and it’s all about the seedy underbelly of the music business and unscrupulous managers who take bands, build them up, exploit them, and then leave them for dead.

Thank you for featuring us.
